ONE GREAT TRUTH: Walking by faith is not merely a concept for every Christian, it’s God’s choice for whole families.

THE TRAGEDY OF A FLESHLY FAMILY…

There were numerous problems in Isaac’s home. He and Rebekah both showed favoritism to different sons. Rebekah deceived her husband and the two boys were essentially at war. But I want us to focus on the fact that this house provided the backdrop for Jacob’s development as a con man.

When faith in Christ is not central to our family…

• We become shallow. (Isaac)
• We live by scheming. (Jacob)
• We are prone to deception. (Rebekah)
• We become short-sighted. (Esau)
• We lack unity and harmony. (the whole family)

THE POSSIBILITY OF A FAITHFUL FAMILY…

Ephesians 5:22-33; 6:1-4

• Husbands, you can love your wife the way Christ loves the church.
• Wives, you can follow your husbands godly, servant leadership.
• Couples, your marriage can bring glory to God and show the story of Jesus.
• Parents, you can raise great kids by leading them to Christ.
• Kids, you can grow up to be champions for Christ!

No matter what your family situation has been in the past, no matter what it looks like today, you can put Christ in the center!
