Genesis 24:1-67

ONE GREAT TRUTH: God’s fingerprints are on every life, but only those who know Him and follow Him can really see and rejoice in His handiwork.

24:1; 25:7-8 tell us that Abraham was truly “blessed.” He lived a full life. He had grown to maturity in the faith. We’ve watched him one step at a time and today’s story is the final chapter.

KEYS TO SEEING GOD’S FINGERPRINTS ON YOUR LIFE…

I. Always follow in faith. (vs. 1-9)
Everything Abraham had been through had prepared him to believe God in spite of difficult circumstances. The servant would travel hundreds of miles through wilderness in hopes of finding a wife – a daunting task, but Abraham believed God!

II. Stick by your convictions. (vs. 1-9)
Abraham refused to allow Isaac’s spiritual growth to be compromised by marrying a Caananite. There are some options that simply are not negotiable as we follow God.

III. Pray along the way. (vs. 10-14)
“Along the way” praying is the very best kind. If you want to see God’s fingerprints and walk in His footsteps, get to know Him through prayer!
• 1 Thessalonians 5:17
• Ephesians 6:18
• Romans 8:26-27

IV. Marvel at God’s answers. (vs. 15-28)
The servant worshipped when he saw how God answered prayer. I think this has two implications:

A. Be watching for God’s answers – don’t miss them by moving on.

B. Give God credit for all things!

Have you been paying attention to God’s fingerprints on your life? Can you see why He brought you here this morning?
